Halibut fishing is great in Prince William Sound and the Gulf of Alaska.  Kids of all ages get a chance at the "big one".  Early in the season we fish the Gulf of Alaska near Hinchenbrook Island where the swirling currents provide a perfect environment for bait fish and their predators (halibut, rockfish, lingcod, etc).  Later in the season, when the fish migrate into the surrounding area, we fish around the many islands of Prince William Sound.  On a good day, we will encounter whales, porpoise and many species of birds.  On a great day we'll see it all AND catch trophy halibut.

Our halibut average about 25 pounds, but most days we catch fish 50 pounds or better and bigger fish are out there.  The largest halibut we have ever boated weighed 289 pounds, and on many trips we have had multiple fish weighing over 100 pounds.  In the photos to the left, the ones with ropes tied to their tails are all 80 pounds or better.  They don't fit in our fish holds so we tie them over the side to keep them out from under foot.  Remind us to pull them in before we take off!

A halibut trip is an all day affair.  We leave the dock at 7:30 am and return between 7:30 and 8:30 pm.  Bring along a lunch, snacks and drinks so you don't go hungry.  We provide all the water you can drink (100 gals on board) and coffee in the morning, so you don't have to bring those along.
