There is so much to see and do in the Sound it would take a lifetime to see it all.  Here is a small sampling of what is available to see.  On a half day sightsee trip we travel into Shupe Bay for a glimpse of the closest tidewater glacier to Valdez then  past Anderson Glacier and through the narrows into Columbia bay for a look at the mighty Columbia glacier. Then it's around Glacier Island to Bull Head to see if the Stellar Sea lions are there.  Bligh Reef, where the Exxon Valdez went aground is our next stop and as we head home we will pass Rocky Point where Tanker Escort Vessels are moored.  Through the narrow channel at Entrance Island then past the Valdez Oil Terminal, we then head back for the small boat harbor.  If we are lucky we will get a glimpse of an Orca or Humpback whale, sea lions and sea otters as well as a plethora of birds  on this quick trip.

If you wish to experience more of the Sound, plan on an overnight trip or even a multi-day trip.  We can combine sightseeing with fishing if you choose or just a leisurely sightseeing trip.  This trip will take us into the Sound, where we will explore Montague and Knight Islands, visit Meares Glacier and visit some remote, quiet anchorages.  Two or more nights and we'll bring along the shrimp pots and fishing poles to gather a feast from the bounty of the sea.  The probability of seeing whales and porpoise on this trip is much greater than on the shorter half-day trip.

On our overnight and multi-day trips we can provide you with a dingy to explore the beaches and shorelines along the way, or if you prefer, we can coordinate a guided sea kayak trip for you.  Your options are completely open on these trips so just let us know what you would like to see while you are out.

Overnight and multi-day trips should be arranged as early as possible to ensure we have the dates you want open.  Multi day trips are limited to four people for your comfort.
